Finding Your Super Power Exercise

  1. SELECT: Choose 4-6 close friends, colleagues, bosses, and mentors whose opinion you trust. Write them an email explaining that you’re doing a self-evaluation and would appreciate their input. Make the survey anonymous to remove bias or pressure. (Sample "ask" email available here; survey template available here).
  2. SURVEY: Send a survey to these individuals and ask two simple questions:
  3. COMPILE: Gather all the answers and see where the commonalities are…

What you consider second nature and normal may not be the same for others. It's normal for you because you've been good at it for a long time, but others may find it difficult and even envy you for it. That thing, whatever it may be, is your superpower. It's what people want to learn from you!

The faster you can harness your superpower and share it, the better. So, if you could steal a skill from someone, who and what would it be? Share that skill below and tag the person who rocks at it. Let's help each other kickstart finding our superpowers!
